Root canal treatment involves cleaning and removing infected or inflamed tissue inside the pulp chamber, then filling the root canal with a specialized material to preserve the tooth and prevent extraction.
Reasons why root canal treatment is necessary.

The tooth decay is so deep it has reached the pulp, causing constant tooth pain.

A cracked or broken tooth that affects the nerve.

The tooth sustained a severe impact that reached the pulp chamber.

There is a pus-filled bump on the gum / an abscess at the root tip of the tooth.
Root canal treatment price and procedures
1. Diagnosis.
• The dentist will ask about any toothache, sensitivity, or swelling.
• Take dental X-rays to check for damage to the pulp and tooth roots.
2. Administer a local anesthetic.
• To ensure the patient feels comfortable and experiences no pain during treatment.
3. Open the tooth cavity.
• Drill an opening on the top of the tooth to access the infected pulp and tooth root.
4. Clean the pulp cavity.
• Use a special tool (root file) to remove inflamed/infected tissue.
• Rinse the root cavity with a disinfectant such as sodium hypochlorite.
5. Apply medication and temporarily cover (if multiple treatments are required).
• The dentist will apply an antiseptic and temporarily close the tooth.
• Schedule an appointment for the next treatment session.
6. Permanent root canal filling.
• Once you are sure there is no inflammation or infection.
• Use a root canal filling material (such as gutta-percha) to fill the root canal and prevent reinfection.
7. Fill or crown the tooth.
• Teeth that have undergone root canal treatment are often brittle, so dentists recommend crowns to reinforce them.
• Especially the back teeth that are used for chewing.
The treatment duration depends on the location of the tooth being treated, but on average it takes 1-3 visits.
